EXAMPLES OF CORPORATE EVENTS: The WBN President’s Holiday Event A unique business networking event December 2005 The Savvy Grapes & the Women's Business Network hosted a fun networking event - a tasting of Canadian wines. During the evening, Accredited Sommelier, Debbie Trenholm, provided insight on the selected wines, wine tasting techniques, interesting stories about the winemaker & ‘rules of thumb’ for matching wines with foods. This wine tasting is intended to be relaxed, interactive and a unique way to meet business women of Ottawa…over a glass of wine. THE INVITATION (a pdf file)... The Ottawa Gatineau Hotel Association's Chefs Charity Cafe February 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 The Savvy Grapes are proud to be part of the organizing board and sponsors of this one of a kind wine & food event since its inception. This event features wines & beers paired with spectacular culinary creations by the Ottawa Gatineau Hotel Associations' executive chefs. 20+ participating hotels include the Ottawa Marriott, Fairmont Chateau Laurier, Crowne Plaza, Monterey Inn, Holiday Inn Select, Ottawa Congress Centre, Hilton Lac Leamy, The Lord Elgin Hotel, Brookstreet Resort, The Westin, Embassy West and Delta Ottawa. 20+ wineries, wine agents & breweries were paired with each executive chef to create a unique experience for the 700+ paid guests. In addition to gastronomic adventure & excellent networking opportunities, there are spectacular silent auction with items donated by local businesses, The Savvy Grapes & OGHA hotels including travel getaway packages to Quebec City & Montreal. Over $150,000 has been raised at the Chefs Charity Café for various Ottawa and international charities. Download the invitation (Adobe Reader is needed to view this file) Habitat for Humanity Women Build Gala November 2006 Help the National Capital Region raise $75,000 need to undertake an all-women build of a Habitat for Humanity home for a deserving Ottawa area family. *The Savvy Grapes* was proud to be a sponsor of the gala fundraising event. A team of women Sommeliers will set aside their corkscrews & grab a hammer to help the community build this special home. More Event Details... The BIG Art Event An Evening of Fine Food, Fine Wine & Fine Art November 2005 & 2006 *The Savvy Grapes* was proud to be a returning sponsor for the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Ottawa annual fundraising event. There was a corporate sponsorship wine tasting reception during the art preview and *The Savvy Grapes* Sommeliers selected wines served with the evening's dinner. More Event Details... A Journey through Ontario Wine Regions A tutored tasting with The Savvy Grapes Sommelier, Debbie Trenholm The Ottawa Chapter of Osteoporosis Canada hosted a fun & educational fundraising evening for ticket holders to learn about wines from Niagara & Prince Edward County. Sommeliers Debbie Trenholm & Patricia Petty shared interesting stories about the wine selection including: EastDell Winery Hernder Estate Wines Malivoire Wine Company The Grange of Prince Edward All proceeds supported Osteoporosis Canada, Ottawa Chapter's mission.
