was not a typical wine tasting event!
Guests had the experience of being a wine critic with the task
of scoring wines. WHAT
WAS THE MYSTERY WINE? Katnook
Estates Founder's Block Cabernet Sauvignon 2003, Australia The Savvy Grapes tasting notes: This is a BIG Wine. Full bodied with luscious aromas of blackberries, black plums, mint, dark chocolate & cedar. These aromas continued into the taste with velvety & balanced mouthfeel. Food Pairing Suggestions: "All that you need with this is a good steak & good friends", suggested Wayne during the pre-event tasting. Grilled vegetables, hearty stew, blue cheese, prime rib roast with the trimmings or a leg of lamb with mint sauce would be perfect for this wine. When the Savvy Team got together to taste the wines for this event, there were several recipes offered to go with this wine. Pick up a bottle & give them a try! Beef Tenderloin with Port, Mushroom & Stilton Sauce Chocolate Pecan Cake...red wine with chocolate cake?? Why not! What our some of the guests said about this wine tasting...
